Who we are

Local Transport ("we", "us", "our") is a UK roadside assistance and recovery service, operating as a sole trader under the trading name Local Transport. What we collect

• Enquiry details you give us — when you use our contact/quote form or call us: your name, phone number, email address, location and any details of your vehicle or situation you choose to share.
• Technical data — our web server keeps standard logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and to keep the site running.

We do not knowingly collect special-category data, and we ask that you don't include sensitive personal information in the form's message field.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

• To respond to your enquiry and provide a quote or service — lawful basis: to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
• To keep the website secure and working — lawful basis: our legitimate interest in the security and integrity of the site.

We do not use your details for marketing unless you have asked us to, and we do not sell your data to anyone.

Who we share it with

We keep your information to ourselves and use it to help you. We may share it only where necessary — for example with our web/email hosting provider that stores enquiries on our behalf, or where we are required to by law. Any provider acting for us is required to protect your data and use it only on our instructions.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records, then delete them. Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to data portability where applicable.
